MY PROJECT

The Project I’m working on the design of the web page for my dear Practicum I and II students. Sometime in the past I had the thought that a web page could be a means of facilitating students’ access to all the mats and info provided in the Practicum.

Now, I’ll take the chance to do it!

Why do I think it may be useful? Because in the Practicum I give students many different sheets, forms and pieces of useful info, and sometimes I can see that no matter how hard I try to explain things as clear as possible, they tend to “forget” certain things.

I believe the web page will give them the possibility of having access to the same pieces of info whenever they need it.

LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!

WEB PAGE PROJECT

Name of project: The Practicum in the Web

Purpose: give some help to my Practicum I and II students at Instituto de Formación Docente Continua – San Luis

Objectives:
- facilitate access to all kinds of information students need when they are doing the
Practicum provide easy access to sheets and forms students are required to fill in during
their observations and classes
- give students the possibility of sharing lesson plans and experiences

Subjects: Students doing their Practicum I and II at the Instituto de Formación Docente Continua - San Luis
Contents I’m planning to include in the web page:

1- About the subject: introduction to the subject.
. Short explanation on what the subject is about.
· Syllabus
· Schedule
· Regulations

2- Sheets and formats
· General observation guide
· Peer observation sheet

3- Lesson planning:
theoretical issues - lesson plan format – students’ lesson plans (here
students are free to share their lesson plans, teacher feedback and own
comments about them)

4- Microteaching
concept – what students are expected to do – possible topics for doing
microteaching

5- Our classes
The teacher will log in every week the materials students are expected to be acquainted with before coming to class. Reflection activities will be included here.
6- Others (I’m thinking about the heading for this section)

· Quotable quotes
· Photos
· Stories
· Useful links
· Anecdotes – Tips for doing the Practicum: for students to share

Requiered learner participation
Students are expected to contribute by adding their lessons plans (optional), comments to classmates' lesson plans, anecdotes, photographs. Students are expected to log in at least one a week to know beforehand what we'll be doing in class. Some reflection activites will be published for students to do in paper and hand in.

The Practicum... a road

As you set out for Ithaka
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
(C.P. Cavay, Ithaka)

TO THINK AHEAD!

Arriving there is what you’re destined for.
But don’t hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you’re old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you’ve gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.

Class

This is the first time I'm doing this, and I really feel quite at a loss
